This thing (parade float?) was so bizarre that I had to stop and take a picture. My guess is that it had something to do with the Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations, but I couldn't really see what this would have to do with Holy Week.
After joining my passengers for lunch (they bought mine), and exploring the mission, I bid farewell and continued alone on a sometimes rough, sometimes sandy road for another 44 miles before again reaching the pavement. I continued to Ciudad Constitución where I found an unexciting RV park to spend the night. The next morning, I continued my drive to La Paz where I stocked up on fresh food and enjoyed another taco stand lunch of "tacos de pescado." This time I ordered my meal in Spanish.
