The drive north of El Cardonal is very exciting with the dirt roads desperately clinging to the sides of the mountains. Keeping my eyes on the road was a challenge since the views of the ocean along this route are as stunning as any I've ever seen. It was only about a 15-mile drive to my next camp at Ensanadas de los Muertos, but the combination of beautiful scenery and difficult roads made it a three-hour drive.
