Emboldened by my success so far, I continue on the relatively easy White Rim Road. Many sections are so smooth and easy that I switch to 2WD high range. At one point, I come across a relatively rough stretch with a steep climb and I had didn't have a chance to drop into 4WD low range. This is a situation I used to fear with my old torque converter (see my transmission article in TDR 36). With its aggressively high stall speed and low torque multiplication, this would be a frightening situation. With my new ATS Diesel Performance TripleLok torque converter, I just gunned the accelerator and easily climbed the steep section in 2WD high range. The most difficult part about driving here is trying to keep my eyes on the road when the stunningly spectacular vistas are doing their best to distract me.
