The hike back to Camp Muir was uneventful and rewarding, since once at Camp Muir we would no longer need our crampons or climbing harnesses and could travel the rest of the way down unroped. On the long descent back to Paradise, I reflected on the climb and was more than a little proud of my accomplishment. Doing the climb without being able to see was more than I had bargained for, but it added to my sense of accomplishment.
