| Before climbing Mount Rainier, I had aspirations of climbing bigger mountains like Alaska's Denali (the tallest peak in North America) or Argentina's Aconcagua (the tallest peak in South America). On the long hike back to Paradise, I accepted the fact that Mount Rainier was the limit of my mountaineering career. I would continue to hike Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks, but I would be content to scale the big peaks through the writing of others. | |
