I spent the first day driving around scouting locations. One of the first rules of landscape photography is that the best light for dramatic landscapes usually occurs during the hours around sunrise and sunset. In the middle of the afternoon when the light is harsh, time is better spent scouting out good sunset and sunrise photo locations. In the Tetons there are so many beautiful scenes that it is difficult to narrow down the infinite number of amazing photo opportunities to one sunrise and one sunset per day.
