It would end up taking us eight sunsets, and seven sunrises to sail from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA to Marina Puerto Del Rey, Puerto Rico.
Seven and one half revolutions of the earth.
Thirty, 3-hour shifts on watch for each crew member.
1,200 nautical miles of sailing and motoring at an average speed of 7 knots.
Like many things worth doing, if I had know the magnitude of our task beforehand, I probably wouldn't have done it - but looking back on the trip, I'm glad I did.
The following pictures in this gallery tell the story of the good times on our trip. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any pictures of the rough periods for fear that I would ruin my equipment.
