EarthRoamer® Xpedition Vehicles were created to meet our own needs for a durable, capable, stand alone, four-season camper. Unable to find a suitable camper from RV manufacturers, we embarked upon a journey to make the ultimate expedition campers. The first EarthRoamer was built in 1998 by Bill Swails, President & CEO. An engineer, avid traveler and photographer, Bill needed a way to get to remote destinations for wildlife and landscape photography. He knew that getting "the shot" often meant waiting for the right light, usually found at dusk and dawn. Having spent many a night in the wilderness in a bivy bag after hiking for several hours, he also wanted a more comfortable way to pursue his lifelong passion and thus began the design of EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles.
It took several years and multiple revisions to evolve our product line to what we believe are the most capable, highest quality and most comfortable expedition vehicles available. Our vehicles are designed for value. We utilize the highest quality fasteners, electrical connectors, hardware and components available. Avoiding a failure in the middle of nowhere can be priceless.
As an organization, we are committed to the Tread Lightly philosophy so we design our vehicles with the environment in mind. We utilize renewable energy sources like biodiesel and solar whenever possible as primary power supplies. We look for energy efficient lights and appliances throughout. This strategy allows greatly extended periods of stand alone camping without reliance on external power or a noisy generator and leaves our customers feeling good about the vehicles they have chosen to utilize in pursuit of their dreams.
