Overview
On long drive days far from any radio stations, music provides the catalyst to keep me moving. My need for a high powered system with high quality sound that could live up to an rough road environment led me to Metro Auto sound in Parker, Colorado. With 600 watts of power being pumped into MB Quart speakers, the sound is incredible.
Panasonic
They recommended the Panasonic unit since it is designed to handle shocks and vibrations of an rough road environment. Panasonic's anti-shock G-Tech™ Series absorbs the dips and bumps of rough road travel. The Panasonic CD player has a high-speed disc rotation and built-in 10-second memory chip that picks up where the player left off, so if my CD happens to skip, I don't notice a thing.
The Panasonic unit also has audio input jacks which let me connect my lap top so I can watch DVDs and enjoy the sound through my 600 watt sound system.
MB Quart
The MB Quart front separates are installed in the factory location, with tweeters in the front pillars, and woofers in the front doors. The 5/4" MB Quart co-axial speakers are installed in the quad cab doors. No complaints with these speakers. They easily handle the power and the sound quality is awesome.
Problems with the CD format
I have only 2 complaints and my complaints are problems with the CD format, not this system. I found CDs to be a big hassle on my 4 month Alaska trip in 1999. I had at least 4 cases of CDs, and this takes up a lot of space. Even with 4 cases of CDs, I was always wishing I had more music. I can be lazy on the road, and loading the 6 disc changer at every fuel stop gets old. On long drive days, it seemed like I always wanted to listen to a CD that wasn't in the changer. Many of my discs got scratched and they were always getting dirty.
