Propane-Free
While propane appliances are ubiquitous in RVs, the EarthRoamer® XV-LT does not use propane for several reasons including safety, condensation, space and
efficiency. All heating and cooking is done with high-efficiency,
safe diesel appliances. Since the diesel stove has no open flame, no water vapor is emitted into the air, eliminating condensation on windows. The XV-LT
features a thermostatically controlled forced-air diesel furnace to maintain a comfortable interior temperature during cold winter weather.
Generator-Free Solar Charged Batteries
No generator is required for full operation of the EarthRoamer XV-LT.
Camper battery power is provided by two 255 amp-hour absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries for a total of 510 amp hours of capacity. This large battery bank provides
ample power for all lights, refrigeration, water pump, TV, stereo, microwave and coffee maker, and can even power the air conditioner overnight.
The advantages of AGM batteries are numerous. They require no
maintenance, withstand shock and vibration better than any standard battery, are sealed against hydrogen leakage and acid spilling even if they are broken,
and can survive most freezes.
These batteries are charged by three 170-watt solar panels located on top of the camper. When the engine is running, dual 130-amp alternators provide plenty
of additional charging power. If you are camping in a developed camp site with power, there's a 30 amp plug that will both power the camper
and charge the battery bank.

Waste Management
The EarthRoamer XV-LT uses a cassette toilet waste handling system popular with European camper designs. By using a cassette toilet, exposure to
waste is minimized and waste disposal is greatly simplified. The waste holding cassette is accessible via an access door from the outside of the camper and
can be emptied into a dump station, conventional toilet or pit toilet.
The cassette tank has a capacity of five gallons which for two people will need to be emptied approximately every two to three days. The convenience of emptying
the cassette far outweighs the need to dispose of waste more frequently and an additional cassette can be carried in the rear locker for additional capacity. With the cassette
solution, there is no large waste tank to empty and no
sewage hose to handle. This is an elegant solution that allows for convenient waste disposal in remote locations and during the winter, when traditional RV
dump stations are not available.

Fresh Water Supply
Adequate fresh water capacity is essential for extended camping and the
EarthRoamer XV-LT provides an 85-gallon fresh water supply. A dual
filtration system and guidelines for chlorinating the water are supplied to help ensure water quality. The plumbing system is designed to function in below
freezing weather. In addition, the EarthRoamer XV-LT is equipped with a pressurized water inlet for use in developed campsites. An air pressure line is
connected to the plumbing system to allow for easy winterization, eliminating the need for conventional RV antifreeze.
